Homage to The Invisible is part of The Bonding installation.
This piece arose as a parallel act of preservation—an offering to the fry that had been forcibly eliminated.
Through a diaphonisation technique, also known as “clearing and staining”—first developed by O. Schultze in 1897 and suggested to me by Professor Karin Pittman—these fragile beings were rendered transparent, revealing their inner osteal and cartilaginous structures in luminous detail.
This process took place at the German Oceanographic Museum in Stralsund, in collaboration with Dr. Timo Moritz and Philipp Richter, with the support of Centro Internacional de Cultura Contemporánea Tabakalera in Donostia/San Sebastián, Spain.
