Rethinking Agency in the Anthropocene
In her lecture, Dr. Joanna Page visualizes the limits of human agency with regard to the earth and presents alternatives to the narrative of the Anthropocene, in which humans are often conceded too much power in a ‘mute world.’ She argues that art, above all, can bring forth a genuine planetary perspective when it focuses on forces that elude human control, for example, natural disasters.
